It's not that they can't wash, they don't need to. The hair doesn't need frequent washing, because we don't produce lots of oil as often as white people. Black people hair doesn't overproduce oils. Report It

People of African descent (and others with the same hair texture)don't make the oils in their hair, that people of European descent make. That's why they need to on occasion, put oil into their hair. Yes, it's true that they aren't advised to wash it as frequently as other races, because it will become brittle and break much more easily.

Also, due to the fact that they don't get oily hair...they don't NEED to wash their hair as often. Just had to add that so people don't start yacking about how it's gross not to wash their hair daily.

Depends. There is a girl in my grade, she cant wash her hair. She can only do it once every two months. Now me, I am black and have curly hair and I can wash it everyday. It depends on what type of structure your hair is.

It's true that people with that kind of hair, like me, can't wash it as frequently as others. It's because our hair gets dry when we wash it and takes about 3 or 4-7 days to get the oil all the way to the ends, which are the dryest part.
