a hair brush is all u need, u need to make sure that u rake ur scalp, not hard but enough to stimulate ur hair follicle's, this will make them stronger and ur hair will grow thicker

The best thing I ever used to make my hair curl up and bounce (without getting stiff and sticky as would happen with mousse) was a product by Tigi/Catwalk called Curls Rock Amplifier. It is a curling cream, so as long as you only use one pump's worth of product for all your hair, it will be soft and bouncy.

Just be sure to apply it in small amounts around your head and scrunch your hair softly as you go. Let it air dry.

Your curls will look great and it will give you the kind of volume/thickness that hairspray never does. Check out the website below so you can see exactly what I am talking about:

Good luck!

I have THICK curly hair. A long time ago a friend with THIN curly hair gave me some Bumble%26amp;Bumble volumizer telling me that it would help hold the curls in place so they would be under control. It sounds counter-intuitive but it worked! Her thin curly hair was shiny, bouncy and looked almost as thick as my hair - both using the same product but for different reasons. As you know, with curly hair you NEVER brush it or it will turn to kinky frizz. But you do need to nourish it with good conditioners and scalp massage with your fingers. 1. Use a gentle, nourishing shampoo and massage scalp well, rinse thoroughly. 2. Put in a good heavy conditioning therapy (I use OJON) let it soak in while you shower, rinse but leave a tiny bit in. 3. Lightly towel dry, then put in Bumble %26amp; Bumble volumizer and comb through well. 4. Use a diffuser or air dry. 5. Hair reflects your body health - make sure you eat a good healthy diet, take vitamins to cover the bases. Hair on average grows 1/2 inch per month so make it healthy, treat it gently and be patient.

Pantene for curly hair is great (the purply one). It maintains and strengthens the curls, and if you scruch up your hair, it'd make it look thicker. x
